Almost 5 months later....

I can't explain exactly why I stopped posting... I got to a point where I almost even wanted to cancel the party. But lets not get all to boo-hooing! Lol

Yes, the party was a SUCCESS! :) The one and only thing I regret is not taking pictures of all my hard work and creativity!!!! I was too busy having fun and watching my little princess smile throughout the whole party. Luckily my sister took a few (and of those few, I only chose two because the rest were mainly of family) with her camera so of course I would LOVE to share!

Here is my Candy Princess! :)

Her dress has a cute birthday cake on it was a candle. I loved it!

Here she is beside the table FULL OF SWEETS!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST!
CANDYLAND!!! :)

Let me try to explain as much as I can!

I covered my whole living room walls with different colored table covers. On each color I had a character along with decorations that went with each. For example, Lord Licorice had red and black licorice around him; Mr. Mint had peppermints, candy canes, snow(pillow stuffing), and tree cutouts to depict the "peppermint forest", and so on.

This was the main table. I had jars and jars full of different kind of sweets. In the front of the table I use baby gerber jars that I had been saving up, put a special label, spray painted the lids pink, and added a "cupcake icing" top out of spackel and added a "cherry" to top it off. Each jar had hersheys kisses.

I also had "special labeled" water bottles and mini hersheys chocolates which were soooo cute!

Oh how I wish I could have taken pictures of each and every single thing!!!!! :(

I did so much and it just makes me sooo sad that I didn't think of taking pictures!

Lets just say the guests were amazed at the detail of this party. What can I say...I become obsessed when it comes to planning parties. Now I know better for my little princess' 2nd birthday! :)

CandyLand Iron On T-Shirts

Here's a sample of how they'll look... Obviously they aren't the real thing, but like I said, it's a sample. :)

A New Idea for the Invitation :)

So after thinking and thinking....I came up with something.

I'm thinking of getting different colored shirts for all the kids who are going to be invited and making iron-ons to put on them. Each shirt will have the child's name along with a character and of course "Ava's 1st Birthday" etc. I will give these out with the invitation and ask them to wear them for the party! But like I said its just an idea! These are some of the iron-ons that I have done...

As for the actual invitation....I still have nothing new lol. But I'll update once I do!

Change of Mind on Gumball Invitations O.o

Yes I know I can be koo koo sometimes....and this is one of those moments. lol

I was looking at the gumball invitation.....and....well......I'm not crazy about it anymore. It doesn't wow me :/ And I need WOW. So I'm going to start thinking and sketching and come up with a new one. It's in me...I just have to think about it.

Letters!

I got these from Hobby Lobby. The letters are wood and the 1 is cardboard and its 4D (I didn't know how else to say it lol)

I painted them with pink acrylic paint!

Hair Ties Lollipops!

I found these at Office Depot....Odd I know....but for just $1! They had pink and purple, but I only got 5 Pink. Usually I would just buy one and use it as an example to make the rest, but come on, they were a DOLLAR! So cute!

It has 30 hair ties!

Dum-Dum Pop Topiary!

Here is the famous dum-dum pops topiary...well..its obviously not done...but you get what I mean lol

I just need the dowel, flower pot and pretty ribbon.

Candy Jars!

I got these candy jars at the Dollar Tree. I would have never thought I would find them there, so that made me love that store even MORE! I got four for now. Of course I'm going to have to get some more.

I put letters on them to spell my little lady's name and on the fourth one I put "One"- which I forgot to take a picture of. I found the ribbon at the Dollar Tree, but I'm not crazy about it. I'm going to have to find more and of lots of different colors and patterns somewhere else.

Story Page!

Remember the Big game pieces I made...well they are going to be in the entrance. In front of them will be a rack of some kind holding these story sheets. I printed two per page. I got it from the actual game, cut it in half so that each part could fit in my scanner and scanned it. I connected them on Microsoft Word.

I did these because not a lot of people know this game like I do. I played this oh so many times as a kid, but the older version. I chose this one for the party theme because I like the characters much more. So I want our guests to know what the party is about, so this will help them a bit. :)

Candy Land Banner!

I saw these banners and thought it was so cute.....but....I'm a DIY mom....sooo....of course I had to make it myself instead of ordering it online and paying for it plus s&h lol

This is the original one that I saw online and you can type in your kids name to see how it will look..

Now this is mine! :)

And this is how I did it:

I typed it my baby girls name (yes we have a very unique last name thanks to my husband lol)
Press down Ctrl and PrtSc way at the top of the keyboard at the same time
Open Paint
Edit and Paste
Save
Then you can crop it with any program you have
Once its cropped open it with microsoft word
Change orientation to landscape
Stretch the picture to make it big and move it around- what ever is on the page is what will be printed
So move it around to make it as big as you want and Print each section
Once you printed it, put it together like a puzzle
It won't look as great because it is so zoomed in, so I used a sharpie and outlined everything (lolly, mr mint and all)
Then you can take it to get laminated
OR
You can be like me and do it yourself using lots and lots of strips of tape lol
I did that and then taped and glued (to be very secure) it onto cardstock to make it more thick. (I hadn't glued in to cardstock yet in this pic)
