CandyLand Iron On T-Shirts

Here's a sample of how they'll look... Obviously they aren't the real thing, but like I said, it's a sample. :)

A New Idea for the Invitation :)

So after thinking and thinking....I came up with something.

I'm thinking of getting different colored shirts for all the kids who are going to be invited and making iron-ons to put on them. Each shirt will have the child's name along with a character and of course "Ava's 1st Birthday" etc. I will give these out with the invitation and ask them to wear them for the party! But like I said its just an idea! These are some of the iron-ons that I have done...

As for the actual invitation....I still have nothing new lol. But I'll update once I do!

Change of Mind on Gumball Invitations O.o

Yes I know I can be koo koo sometimes....and this is one of those moments. lol

I was looking at the gumball invitation.....and....well......I'm not crazy about it anymore. It doesn't wow me :/ And I need WOW. So I'm going to start thinking and sketching and come up with a new one. It's in me...I just have to think about it.

Letters!

I got these from Hobby Lobby. The letters are wood and the 1 is cardboard and its 4D (I didn't know how else to say it lol)

I painted them with pink acrylic paint!

Hair Ties Lollipops!

I found these at Office Depot....Odd I know....but for just $1! They had pink and purple, but I only got 5 Pink. Usually I would just buy one and use it as an example to make the rest, but come on, they were a DOLLAR! So cute!

It has 30 hair ties!

Dum-Dum Pop Topiary!

Here is the famous dum-dum pops topiary...well..its obviously not done...but you get what I mean lol

I just need the dowel, flower pot and pretty ribbon.

Candy Jars!

I got these candy jars at the Dollar Tree. I would have never thought I would find them there, so that made me love that store even MORE! I got four for now. Of course I'm going to have to get some more.

I put letters on them to spell my little lady's name and on the fourth one I put "One"- which I forgot to take a picture of. I found the ribbon at the Dollar Tree, but I'm not crazy about it. I'm going to have to find more and of lots of different colors and patterns somewhere else.

Story Page!

Remember the Big game pieces I made...well they are going to be in the entrance. In front of them will be a rack of some kind holding these story sheets. I printed two per page. I got it from the actual game, cut it in half so that each part could fit in my scanner and scanned it. I connected them on Microsoft Word.

I did these because not a lot of people know this game like I do. I played this oh so many times as a kid, but the older version. I chose this one for the party theme because I like the characters much more. So I want our guests to know what the party is about, so this will help them a bit. :)

Candy Land Banner!

I saw these banners and thought it was so cute.....but....I'm a DIY mom....sooo....of course I had to make it myself instead of ordering it online and paying for it plus s&h lol

This is the original one that I saw online and you can type in your kids name to see how it will look..

Now this is mine! :)

And this is how I did it:

I typed it my baby girls name (yes we have a very unique last name thanks to my husband lol)
Press down Ctrl and PrtSc way at the top of the keyboard at the same time
Open Paint
Edit and Paste
Save
Then you can crop it with any program you have
Once its cropped open it with microsoft word
Change orientation to landscape
Stretch the picture to make it big and move it around- what ever is on the page is what will be printed
So move it around to make it as big as you want and Print each section
Once you printed it, put it together like a puzzle
It won't look as great because it is so zoomed in, so I used a sharpie and outlined everything (lolly, mr mint and all)
Then you can take it to get laminated
OR
You can be like me and do it yourself using lots and lots of strips of tape lol
I did that and then taped and glued (to be very secure) it onto cardstock to make it more thick. (I hadn't glued in to cardstock yet in this pic)

Gumball Machine Invitation!

This is the official invitation :)

I made the gumball machine on Microsoft Word using the different shapes.
I printed it out and cut a slit for the info to go in and out.

I made it to where you pull the small pink gumball and the info paper comes out.

Ta-da! lol
The invitation reads:
Come one, come all
to the fantastic world of
Candy Land
King Kandy has invited
you to his castle for an extraordinary celebration!

Ava's
1st
Birthday!

Date
Time
CandyLand
Address
RSVP
Email

Set off down the rainbow
path to start your
magical adventure!

I still have to get envelopes and I want to do the liners with a picture of Ava in a rainbow tutu, topless lol and a big "gumball" necklace.....thats what I have in mind...but like I always say..WE'LL SEE lol

Oh and I still want to add a little something more to the invitation....it just doesn't wow me yet...maybe glitter or I don't know...I'll have to think think think...

Time to update what I've been working on!!!

I recently bought a printer! FINALLY! I had been begging my hubby for one :) and I love it! Believe it or not I already finished the color ink- time for a new cartridge lol. Ok so today there will be several posts. I don't want to mix everything together. So here I go :)

Small Gamepieces!

I found these foam gingerbread men shapes 8 for $1 at the Dollar Tree. (Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the Dollar Tree!) I painted them with acrylic paint and drew on them with a sharpie. I'm about to start on the Big gamepieces and later cut out a lot of mini ones out of cardstock.

Sweet Hair Bows! :)

Remember what i made out of polymer clay? Well, I decided to make bows with them. I worked with the ribbon that I already have. I lost the fudge pop that I had made but i really liked it so I'm going to make more.

Peppermints!

I almost forgot I made these today out of foam. I'll make more soon. These still need sides, cellophane and ribbon.

Cupcake Headbands!

This is just a sample of what I'm going to do. It looks plain because I'm still not done. The cupcake needs sprinkles and the headband needs ribbon and more color. I also want to make fake candy hair bows maybe even from polymer clay. But this is it for now!

Now Lets START! :)

Let me start by introducing the famous little miss Ava! :)
Everything I'm doing is for her! I really do hope it turns out great.

Here we go.....

This is the first page to my journal, in it I write my ideas and sketch to the best of my ability, but I'll just show you this page lol...you probably wouldn't understand the rest anyway!

I'm just going to throw stuff out there, in no particular order ok..

1. Characters- so far I just have King Kandy and Mr. Mint which I used a projector for. I drew them on foam (from DollarTree) and colored in with markers. I'm happy with the way they turned out :) (the lighting sucks i know)

2. Candy Castle- I got it from HobbyLobby and painted it with acrylic paint, I'm still not done of course, I have LOTS to do. I plan on having it on a table along with gifts and the cake inside.

3. Coloring Books- small but cute, I'm doing them myself, I'm using different color cardstock for the cover and will staple it together. I still don't know how I want the cover to look.

4. Ice Cream bowls- I found these at the DollarTree in packs of 3! Love them! I'm thinking of using them as "goody bags" but I'm not sure yet.

5. Ice Cream Cone Cups- DollarTree as well, I got lucky that day lol- I still don't know what I'll do with them

6. Styrofoam balls- I just have two, I want to do the dum dum pop tree that Ive seen on other websites which I'll add links to later...I have to give credit right! :)
7. Similac cans- I painted them with pink acrylic paint, I have way more than that, I'm thinking of putting a fake cupcake on top of the lid, but we'll see how that turns out!

8. Baby Gerber Jars- not too sure what to do with these (which I have a lot of too)...but I have to use them somehow...THINK...THINK...THINK...lol

9. Polymer Clay- This is what I made today with the polymer clay that I bought...I made another one that I haven't taken a pic of though
10. Cupcake chalkboards- I only have 4 but I'm thinking of cutting out more out of cardstock...buttons are for the cherry on top, I like pink more than red for these

11. Clippy Thingys (I have no idea what exactly they are called)- but i can put them to good use! I found 3 of them at a thrift store
Thats it for now....I have to go run some errands!! But I'll update soon!
